Our body can reflect some signs that tell us when our body needs water; here are some signs that tell it’s time to re-hydrate:
- Frequency of urine
A healthy person in a day urinates 6-7 times in a day on average basis, but if you urinates about 2-3 times in a day and have not urinated for several hours, these might be an indication that you need to increase your water intake.
Not drinking enough water may affect the functioning of kidneys and lead to difficulties to filter out impurities efficiently.

It s better to drink water frequently for example a glass of water every hour to keep skin and body well hydrated.
Headaches due to hydration may have happened when you have sweated a lot, but ignored the fluid intake. Headaches during dehydration don’t have common characteristics associated with a normal headache, you can identify this type of headaches if it gets aggravated with any kind of movement like moving up and down stairs or bend down to pick something or moving so fast, this kind of headache is the sign of dehydration, immediately drink fluids slowly.

The color of the urine would get darker as per the level of dehydration; this reflects that the body requires an immediate supply of water. There are different colors of urine given in the chart, from yellow to brown, where brown reflects the severe dehydration and need of immediate fluid supply. Drink water slowly and gradually replenish the water requirement of the various organs.

Sometimes when you are dehydrated your body mistakes thirst with hunger. So, before going for any snack after a meal drink a glass of water to maintain the hydration level. If it satisfies the hunger, it was really not a snack craving, but your body was asking for water.
Sometimes body loses so much of fluids that may lead to experience lightness in head. This is so common with athletes and people with heavy labor work who stay in the sun for long.
